Post office raiders grab cash from safe

DETECTIVES are hunting two robbers who threatened a member of staff and escaped with cash from a safe at a village post office.

Police in West Kent are appealing for information about the raid that happened at in High Street, Seal, near Sevenoaks, on Friday, April 28, between 5.15pm and 5.30pm.

Police say the two men forced a door to get into the post office. No weapon was used during the incident.

Anne McCarthy, a police media and communications officer, said: "The member of staff was shaken and suffered a grazed arm but was otherwise unhurt.

"The men left the shop carrying a black briefcase-sized bag and are believed to have driven away from the area in a black sports car along the A25 towards Sevenoaks."

One of the men is described as black, aged between 20 and 29, and about 6ft 2ins tall.

He had a close cut beard and was wearing a dark grey hooded top with the hood up, dark tracksuit trousers with a stripe down the side and black shoes.

His accomplace was also black and thought to be aged between 20 – 29 years old, around 6ft 2ins and wearing a black hooded top.

The black car they drove away in may have been driven by a white man with short fair hair.
