A SCHOOL is up and running after being closed for six days due to a power cut.
Pupils at Grange Park Special Needs School in Leybourne were sent home on Friday, March 7, after head teacher Mark Robson discovered there was no heating or lighting.
He reported the problem to Kent County Council.
The problem had not been solved by the end of the day and Mr Robson decided to close the school last Monday.
The council provided a generator on Wednesday morning but it broke down less than 24 hours later.
It was fixed on Friday morning but the school did not re-open until Monday.
Mr Robson said: "For all intents and purposes the school is running as normal but we are still being powered by the generator. It has been absolutely chaotic."
