Two people were rescued from the River Medway when a powerboat overturned during a race.

Coastguards were called at around 2pm on Saturday.

The people onboard the 21 foot vessel were taken to the clubhouse at Allhallows Yacht club where they were treated by paramedics.

One was then taken to Medway Maritime Hospital with suspected neck, back and leg injuries.
