Sainsbury's pressured to fix Romney Place lift and escalators

A supermarket has come in for criticism about broken escalators leading to one of its stores.

Disabled customers of the Maidstone branch of Sainsbury's next to The Mall have been unable to use the Romney Place lift and escalators for two years.

The public and councillors are now putting pressure on the shop to fix the facilities amid claims the area has turned into a grot-spot.
