Suzuki's Alto is now the cheapest new car available in the UK, following a price cut that is set to last until the end of September.
With no VAT to pay the Alto city car retails at £5,995 on the road, and Suzuki is launching a double-pronged assault on budget-conscious buyers by revealing that the Alto will also emit only 99g/km of CO2 with a manual gearbox, meaning free road tax and congestion charge exemption.
Insurance groupings are not among the very best but are still cheap, starting at group 4E. Dual variable valve timing and various eco-minded revisions mean up to 65.7mpg is theoretically possible.
The Alto is one of Suzuk'™s best-selling cars and its most liked by customers. The company claims more than 63% of people who take test drives in the Alto go on to buy one.
