A teenager has been nominated for a post humous Pride in Medway award for the courage he showed throughout his battle with cancer.
Aaron Basden, 13, lost that fight earlier this year.
He was featured in the Medway Messenger, last year after his classmates at St John Fisher Catholic School, Chatham, raised more than £8,000 so he could achieve his dream of going to Disney World in Florida.
Medway Messenger reader Louise Pilbeam , 29, from Gillingham, was so moved by Aaron's story she decided to put him forward for the award.
His mum Carla was delighted to hear about the nomination and is expected at the awards ceremony.
She said: "He was so courageous throughout his illness and never complained."
