ELDERLY residents at a sheltered housing scheme have banded together to nominate the woman who does a "wonderful job looking after them" for a Pride in Medway Award.
Pat Black, scheme manager at Macklands House, Station Road, Rainham, has been put forward for a community involvement award.
Pat, 56, has worked at Macklands House for 10 years.
Resident Bob Woodrow, 76, filled in the nomination form.
He said: "All 22 residents have suggested that Pat does such a wonderful job looking after them and has such a caring attitude, that she should be nominated for a Pride in Medway Award.
"She helps residents with benefits and other issues. She is one of these women who looks into things with a fine tooth comb.
"Not only does she look after the residents interests here, but she also openly encourages other elderly people from other sheltered housing, to join us on our many lunches here and outside activities.
"Pat is also involved with other community projects. She is an amazing person and nothing is too much trouble."
Bob, a Gillingham Lions Club member, moved into Macklands House a year ago.
He added: "I have known Pat for a number for years due to my involvement with the Lions.
"When we first began working with the scheme there were hardly any facilities here, now it has grown beyond recognition and a lot of it is due to Pat's hard work. She is the scheme manager to end all scheme managers."
It is the third time Pat has been nominated for a Pride in Medway Award.
She said: "It is lovely to be nominated. The people here at Macklands House are a great group of people and are a great support to me, which spurs me on to do more for them."
n Pride in Medway is sponsored by the Medway Messenger, mhs homes, the University of Kent and Medway Council.
