RADIO and TV celebrity Sir Terry Wogan is to present a Proms Spectacular in Kent later this year.
The concert, featuring the English National Orchestra (ENO) performing a repertoire of classic traditional music associated with the Last Night of the Proms, will be held at the Hop Farm Country Park at Beltring, near East Peckham, on Sunday, September 10.
The evening will begin with an aerial display over the hop farm by an original Second World World Spitfire while the orchestra performs the Dambusters March.
The ENO will be conducted by Jae Alexander, who is currently conducting the West End musical Guys & Dolls, and the concert will also feature tenor Wynne Evans and soprano Janet Mooney .
The evening will culminate with a fireworks finale to accompany traditional Proms favourites such as the 1812 Overture, Rule Britannia, Jerusalem and Land of Hope & Glory.
Event organisers, Musical Associates, hope concert-goers will combine the chance to listen to the music and watch the fireworks with a picnic.
Tickets are priced as follows: up to June 30 - adults £25, children £13; from July 1 to August 4 - adults £28, children £15; from August 5 to September 9 - adults £30, children £17 and on the day - adults £32, children £20 (subject to availability).
