A SCHOOLBOY who died in a road crash last Friday has been named by Kent Police as 16-year-old James Morrissey-Crouch, a student at Bethany School at Goudhurst, near Tunbridge Wells.

James came from Vicarage Lane, Burwash Common in East Sussex. The two-car crash happened at Bedgebury Road at Goudhurst.

In a statement issued through police, members of the dead boy's family described him as "an outgoing, popular boy who lived his life to the full."

James was fatally injured in a collision involving a blue Mini and a silver BMW. He was a passenger in the rear seat of the Mini. He was taken by air ambulance to Maidstone Hospital where he died.

A second passenger in the same car, aged 17, suffered a serious head injury and was taken to the Kent and Sussex Hospital at Tunbridge Wells.

The driver of that car, also aged 17, was treated in hospital for an arm injury. The driver of the other car was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Members of Kent Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses to the crash to contact them on 01622 798538.
