BIRDS of prey winged their way to Kingsnorth primary school at Ashford. Staff from the Raptor Centre, in Tunbridge Wells, talked to children at the school about how the birds live and catch food and about the importance of protecting them.

The birds were allowed to fly around the hall during the talk. "The children found it very engaging and exciting," said head teacher Claire Foinette.

"Their attention was held for an hour and a half. The birds were well-trained and quite harmless."
