THE RAC has launched a new accident support service. RAC Accident Solutions is a free service providing advice and support to RAC members involved in a road accident.
According to the club, motorists are often confused and uncertain about what to do after an accident. Research reveals that young drivers often call their parents after an incident, while older motorists tend to phone a partner. But although a loved one car offer reassurance, they cannot provide professional advice.
RAC Accident Solutions will:
* Assess the situation and reassure and advise you on what to do at the scene.
* Arrange recovery of your vehicle and help you make alternative travel arrangements.
* Offer free legal advice including whether you are eligible to pursue any claim for compensation. In some cases RAC will be able to pursue a case on your behalf.
* Advise you on the repair and insurance process.
* Provide documentation to help support your insurance claim.
James Molloy, head of RAC Accident Solutions, said: “RAC’s legal services team will provide support whether you are at fault or not. No other organisation offers help to the motorist at the scene of an accident other than to arrange recovery - and the majority of accidents don’t require recovery.
“Our members already trust RAC to help them when they break down. Now they can rely on the same service when they are involved in a road traffic accident. Whether it’s a major incident or just a fender bender, RAC Accident Solutions can help.”
