Sheppey's radio station has issued an apology after a pornographic image was posted on its website.
BRFM presenters have been left appalled by the 'joke’, which has led to them having to remove the website altogether.
A spokesman for the station said it was bought to their attention very quickly and they were able to remove the image immediately.
An offensive image was posted sometime this week, but a number of listeners phoned in to let the station know, and the picture was taken down on Friday morning.
The station will now have to issue an apology to broadcasting watchdog OFCOM.
The station’s development manager, Julie Nicholls, said: “BRFM would like to sincerely apologise to anyone who was offended by the image.
“It was nothing to do with us and we have taken it down and temporarily closed the site down.
“Someone with the knowledge to get into our website has done this – it’s a very inappropriate joke.
“It’s disgusting – we are a community radio station.”
