Drugs worth an estimated more than £250,000 have been seized during a police raid.

The haul was uncovered when officers executed a warrant at a premises off Coldharbour Lane, Ditton.

They seized around 3.5kg of suspected cocaine, 2kg of skunk cannabis and 0.25kg of amphetamines.

Police said a large amount of cash was also recovered, along with suspected stolen jewellery.

Two people were arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs with intent to supply.

A 30-year-old man has been bailed pending further inquiries until May 5 and a 17-year-old, from West Malling, was given a youth reprimand.

Officers from the RSPCA also attended, with five birds and three dogs seized under welfare grounds.

Insp Nicholas Sparkes, who co-ordinated the raid on Friday, said: "This area does not have a drugs problem, but what has been identified is the potential for drugs and the associated crime to become an issue if left unchallenged.

"This activity has been put in place to stop the Class A drugs network taking hold and the impact on people's quality of life that this can have. Where we receive intelligence about drug dealing we will act upon it swiftly."

Anyone with information about illegal drug supply or use can contact Kent Police on 101 or Kent Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
