Raiders steal bronze animal statues

POLICE are appealing for information about the whereabouts of several large bronze animal statues stolen from premises in the Fordcombe area of Tunbridge Wells.

The theft happened between 5pm on Friday, January 13 and 7.30am on Monday, January 16.

The items stolen include:

Bronze bull, 5ft 6in x 3ft 3in

Bronze bear, dimensions not known

Bronze lion, 6ft 8in x 4’4”

Bronze boar, dimensions not known

Bronze fox, dimensions not known

Bronze deer, approximately 6ft high

Smaller bronze items were also stolen. They included:

Cock and hen pair

5 ducks (between 8in 13in)

Fighting hares

The larger items would need several people to lift them and a vehicle would be required to take them from the area.

Police are hoping that the distinctive identity of these items may lead to people coming forward with information.
