Ram-raiders strike at Boots store

RAM-RAIDERS have struck at Boots in Ramsgate town centre causing damage estimated at £5,000 to automatic doors. A grey or silver saloon car was driven into the High Street entrance of the shop at 6am this morning.

Police say the car was reversed several times into the doors. Two men got out, entered the shop and then were seen driving off towards King Street.

A police spokeswoman said:“Officers are trying to establish what has been stolen and in what quantity. Video footage from town centre CCTV cameras is being studied and investigating officer Det Sgt Ken Elmes is keen to hear from anyone who saw the car in the town centre area at the time of the raid.”
