Police disturbed robbers as they tried to remove a cash machine from Natwest in Snodland early this morning.

They were called to the High Street branch at 3.40am where they found a JCB digger still holding the ATM near to where it had been ripped from the wall.

Kent Police say they are linking it to a cash machine robbery which happened in Ashford on Wednesday.

They would like to hear from anyone with information about two vehicles believed to be involved in the robbery - a dark Transit-style flatbed lorry and a light saloon car.

Anyone with information should call the new non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
