RAMSGATE booked themselves a Ryman League Premier Division play-off place after a final day 5-0 mauling of Boreham Wood.
Almost 500 fans packed Southwood to see Sam Jones open the scoring after four minutes. Olly Schulz made it 2-0 a minute before the break and his brother Warren made it 3-0 less than 60 seconds later.
Olly Schulz added the fourth five minutes after the break minutes and Dean Hill rifled in a fifth two minutes later.
The big defeat condemned the Hertfordshire side to relegation on goal-difference. Had the Rams won by just a single goal then Wood would have avoided the drop.
Jim Ward’s side reached the playoffs after Hendon - who began the day in fifth spot - lost 2-1 at home to Wealdstone.
The Rams eventually finished two points clear of sixth-placed Ashford Town (Middx) and face a trip to Staines Town’s Wheatsheaf Park at 7.45pm on Tuesday for the semi-final clash which must be decided on the night.
The Rams lost 1-0 at home to ‘The Massive’ in the league and 2-0 at Wheatsheaf Park.
Fourth-placed AFC Hornchurch travel to third-placed AFC Wimbledon in the other semi-final with all four sides hoping to join champions Chelmsford City in Blue Square South next season.
The play-off final will be held on Saturday, May 3, with the Rams certain of an away game should they overcome Staines.
