Manager Ray Turner admits Faversham Town are going through "a transitional period" as the comings and goings at Salters Lane continue .
Following the recent departures of Shane Hamshare and Damian Abel to Whitstable, Tom Hickman looks set to join Ramsgate while Sam Gore will be leaving at the end of the month to go travelling.
But Turner (pictured) has demonstrated his determination to "stay one step ahead" by bringing in three new players over the past week, with the possibility of another to follow soon.
After acquiring left-sided performer Nathan Simpson from Merstham and signing striker Nicky Moir, Turner moved swiftly to complete a deal with Met Police last Friday for experienced defender Nicky Humphrey.
The 29-year-old Humphrey is a familar figure in Kent football circles after spells with Dover Athletic, Folkestone Invicta, Tonbridge Angels and Ashford Town and Turner said: "Nicky is outstanding at this level. We need a little bit of experience in key areas and he’s going to make a massive difference.
"I first spoke to (Met Police manager) Jim Cooper on Friday and we were able to get eveything done and dusted that day."
Turner said: "Nathan is another experienced performer and has played for decent clubs, while Nicky Moir is a young lad who Danny Hockton suggested we have a look at."
Faversham are at home to Eastbourne Town on Saturday.
