A mother who broke the female world record for running the length of the UK would have been faster had she not been stopped by a policeman.
Mimi Anderson, 46, is now relaxing at her home in Smarden, after she completed the 840-mile run in 12 days, 15 hours and 46 minutes, 37 miniutes faster than the previous record.
But she might have been faster still had she not been stopped at Cambourne in Cornwall for 45 minutes by a concerned policeman.
She said: “It was on the last day. I think a member of the public had complained that I was on the road with my accompanying cyclist.
“The policeman wanted me off the A30 which would have added two hours or so.”
Fortunately, a member of Mimi’s support crew also worked for the Cornish constabularly and was able to resolve the matter.
