The rector of Staplehurst, Canon Gill Calver, has added another string to her bow.
Five months after being appointed an honorary canon of Canterbury Cathedral, she has been made a chaplain to the Queen, an honour which allows her to wear a red cassock and to preach at one of the Chapels Royal once a year.
She has joined a rota of chaplains who are available to the Queen at any time and is entitled to wear as special silver gilt brooch marking her role.
