A red-faced reveller will be suffering from sore ears - after getting his head stuck in a caricature of an Olympic weight-lifter.

The man was out with friends in Folkestone last night when they came across the models of athletes with faces cut out for people to put their own heads through in Sandgate Road.

He tried to impersonate a weight-lifter - but his head was too big and he got stuck.

His friends called out Folkestone firefighters to release him at 1.50am today.

Crew manager Mick Scott-Smith said: "Once he had got his head through the hole he could not get it back so we had to free him.

"He was rather embarrassed and probably has sore ears."
