Thick black smoke billows into the sky after a Reliant Robin caught alight this afternoon.
The three-wheeled car was destroyed by fire on the A289 between Wainscott and the Medway City Estate.
It is not known what caused the blaze, which caused traffic chaos when it broke out at 12.10pm.
Strood firefighters attended and used water jets to put out the burning car, which was on the Chatham-bound carriageway.
A man and a woman who were in the Reliant were uninjured.
A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "When we arrived the Reliant Robin was completely engulfed.
"The body was made of fibreglass so it burned very quickly and there is not much of it left."
Police also attended and were still directing traffic at 1.30pm.
The last Reliant Robins were made in 2001, were the only commercial three-wheeled cars - and were made famous by Del Boy in Only Fools and Horses.
They earn tax breaks because they are treated as motorcycles by the government.
