Rents bring rewards for new investors

Apartments sold to investors on the Antler Homes development at Bishop's Field, Maidstone, are already achieving high rents, according to the developer.

Tim Foreman, sales and marketing director of Antler Homes Southern said investors buying the apartments to rent out were finding tenants prepared to pay a premium for apartments with new kitchens, attractive bathrooms, contemporary design and parking spaces.

He said: "Some people may be wondering what investment to make following the Budget last month, but property still offers an excellent return on investment. The rise in Capital Gains Tax (CGT) may be of concern, but you only attract CGT when you sell an investment or property and make a profit over the £10,000 threshold.

"Over the past 20 years, new homes have consistently outperformed almost every other investment opportunity and it is still true to say that, generally, the longer an investor owns the property, the larger the profit."

Bishop's Field, Postley Road, is just south of Maidstone centre.

Prices start from £134,950 for a one-bedroom apartment and £164,950 for a two-bedroom apartment. The show apartment is open from Friday to Monday. Call 01622 600110 or see www.antlerhomes.co.uk
