TRAFFIC was disrupted this morning between junction 2a of the M26 (Wrotham), and junction 3 of the M20, due to maintenance work.

The work, which includes repairing the drainage system, replacing safety barriers, and repairing the bridge over the carriageway, is being carried out by the Highways Agency.

A spokesman said: "We regret the inconvenience to drivers this morning and we have spoken to our contractors to ensure there is no repeat of the over-running work that took place today."

The work is expected to be finished by the end of next month.
