A widow from Westgate-on-Sea has appealed for fresh information about a pub brawl which left her husband with serious head injuries.

Richard Would collapsed and died two months after he was attacked at the Nottingham Castle Hotel in Beach Road on February 24, 2007.

No one has ever been charged for the assault on the 58-year-old publican and two other men who also suffered significant injuries.

Now, almost three years after her husband's death, Linda Would has pleaded to those who know the truth to come forward.

She said: "We have eight children and I’m seeking closure for them and for myself. Our youngest was 12-years-old when he lost his dad and that's not fair.

"I'd ask anyone who, for whatever reason three years ago, was withholding information to revisit their consciences and to come forward now. It's not too late."

The incident at the Nottingham Castle Hotel occurred between 12.20am and 12.40am.

It is believed it started when someone who had been barred from the venue was asked to leave.

Detectives from Kent Police plan to interview witnesses again next week as their investigations continue.

Mrs Would said: "I'm a great believer in karma and I'm holding on to that but, for all our sakes, I'd like justice through the criminal court to be done as well."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Kent Police on 01622 690690 or Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
