Six ring-tailed lemurs are among the latest additions to the population at Wingham Wildlife Park.

They were born in the park’s primate breeding season and are healthy and well enough to be introduced to the public.

Three black and white ruffed lemurs, on the critically endangered list, have been born while a red ruffed lemur baby was also born.

And two common marmosets were also born, taking the number of new primates at Wingham up to 12.

Park owners Tony and Jackie Binskin are delighted with the way the breeding season has gone so far.

Tony said: “The baby season always makes the hard work throughout the year very worthwhile and rewarding.

“Even though it’s always sad to see them go, we hope to be able to give many zoos around the UK and the rest of Europe new healthy animals to add to their breeding programs at the end of this season.”
