The winners of the Your River 2008 photo competition have been announced.

There were 439 entries to the contest, organised by the Medway Valley Countryside Partnership, the Medway Swale Estuary Partnership and the Valley of Visions Landscape Partnership Scheme, and supported by the KM Group.

First, second and third prizes were awarded in four geographical categories and in an under-18s category.

The lucky first-placed winners were Jackie Hagan, Olive Medhurst, Sam Baylis, Mike Blake and Don Beevis, who were given the opportunity of going on a photoshoot with a photographer.

All the winning, highly commended and commended competition entries will go on display to the public at Sessions House, County Hall, Maidstone, from Monday, January 5. The exhibition will run until Friday, January 16.
