Emergency services are searching the River Thames this morning after a man jumped off the QEII bridge.

The man, who is his 20s and from Kent, stopped his car on the bridge at 1am before jumping off.

Police and the Gravesend RNLI crew searched areas beneath the bridge to try to find him, but have now extended their hunt.

Kent Police said no further details will be released until the man's next of kin have been informed.
