A man sentenced to life in jail for stabbing another man to death in a motorway road rage incident is due to start an appeal against his conviction today.

Kenneth Noye, 63, was jailed 10 years ago for murdering Stephen Cameron on the M25 in 1996.

The 21-year-old was killed in front of his fiance Danielle Cable, then 17, after the couple got into an argument with Noye at the Swanley interchange.

Noye fled to Spain but was extradited in 1999 and sentenced to life at the Old Bailey in April 2000.

He had pleaded not guilty to murder on the grounds of self defence.

His conviction has been referred to the Court of Appeal by the Criminal Cases Review Commission, which looks into suspected miscarriages of justice.

The court will decide whether to completely quash his conviction, order a retrial or uphold it.
