Road rage motorist knocked down pedestrian

A Medway woman who drove along a pavement and knocked down a pedestrian later reported him to the police for damaging her car, a court heard.

Sarah Priest, 37, suffered what was described as a “momentary loss of temper while under stress” when she struck Kenneth Capon during the road-rage incident in March last year.

Sentencing the mum-of-two to nine months imprisonment suspended for 18 months, Recorder Johanna Cutts QC said the court took a serious view of those who use their vehicle as a weapon.

“He suffered pain and shock. However he behaved that evening he did not deserve the way you treated him,” she said.

Priest, of Ivy Street, Rainham, admitted assault causing actual bodily harm. She denied dangerous driving and this was ordered to be left on file.
