Road re-opened after serious crash

The A249 between Sittingbourne and Maidstone has now re-opened after a car struck a tree on Saturday.

A 19-year-old man, from Ramsgate, suffered serious injuries when his silver Peugeot 306 struck the tree near the Shell garage at the top of Detling Hill.

It happened just before 7am.
