A SECURICOR guard was stabbed in the wrist by a robber armed with a knife outside a Co-op store.
The drama unfolded as the guard was collecting money from the Co-op in Hever Road, West Kingsdown, near the Brands Hatch racing circuit.
As he returned to his van, two men approached him from behind and shouted at him to hand them the box he was carrying. One of the robbers then held up a knife and stabbed him in his wrist.
The victim fell to the ground and the offenders ran off with the box. The guard was later taken to Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford where he was treated for his injuries.
Police say the robbers escaped with a "substantial amount of money".
The incident took place on Tuesday, November 29, at about 3.40pm. Witnesses saw the offenders drive away in a Vauxhall Astra towards the A20.
Both robbers are thought to be aged between 17 and 20. The first man was about 5ft 7in tall, of slight build wearing a light blue hooded top, dark trousers and trainers. The second man was also of slight build, wearing dark clothing.
Police are particularly keen to speak to anyone who can help provide details about the location of the light blue Astra used in the robbery. The car was stolen from an address in East London on November 12 and the first part of the registration is AO55.
DC Sophie Keeling said: “We would like to hear from anyone who has seen this car since it was stolen. Any sightings could provide valuable information for our investigation.”
