Robbery at Gillingham petrol station

Two men who robbed a petrol station in Gillingham are being hunted by police.

Detectives are appealing for information following the raid at the Shell petrol station in Nelson Road, just before 10am Wednesday.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: "Two men entered the shell petrol station and once inside they pushed over a member of security staff carrying a cash box, picked up the box and fled the scene.

"It is not yet known how much money was inside the box."

The men were both black, around 30-years-old and wearing high visibility jackets.

The spokesman added: "They left the petrol station and ran onto Napier Road where they got into a small white or silver car, possibly a Kia Picanto and drove off.

"No-one was hurt in the incident and no weapons were used."
