A man given an Asbo for repeatedly being drunk has been jailed for two months – after turning up intoxicated for a meeting at Maidstone Police Station.
Robert King, 51, of no address, admitted breaching his Asbo at Maidstone Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
He was initially given the Asbo on November 11 after magistrates heard he had been arrested 15 times this year for drunken related offences in the town centre.
The Asbo barred him from entering licensed premises in the town, using foul or abusive language of behaviour likely to cause distress, being drunk in the town centre or consuming alcohol in a public place.
He was handed the Asbo after his most recent arrest in early November, after he created a disturbance at the Maidstone Gateway offices in King Street.
Town centre officer Desmond Dalzell said: "We are prepared to enforce the terms of Asbos which are served to protect the public from individuals who repeatedly cause a nuisance."
