A MAN had a lucky escape when he managed to walk away from his car after it rolled over on a busy road.

The crash happened shortly after 5pm on Thursday on the Vanguard Road slipway on the Gillingham side of the Medway Tunnel.

A crew from Strood Fire Station were called to cut the man from the wreckage of the car but he managed to free himself.

Police shut the slip road and one lane of the Medway Tunnel in order to recover the wreckage.

Both roads were reopened shortly before 7.30pm.
