A CRASH on the M20 caused delays for London-bound drivers today.
Two cars, a blue Vauxhall Astra and a grey Citroen Chicago, were involved in the incident just after 9am, between junctions 5 and 6.
The Chicago ended up on its roof as a result of the collision, but the male driver from South London was able to escape without assistance from Kent Fire and Rescue and suffered only minor injuries. He was takento Maidstone Hospital for treatment.
His pet lurcher named Mabel, which had been in the car with him, was thrown from the vehicle as it rolled and the dog received chest injuries.
However, the injured dog was well enough to run loose up and down the carriageway until Ch Insp Steve Dockery from the RSPCA arrived and was able to catch her and take her to Newnham Court Veterinary Surgery in Maidstone for treatment.
Both the main carriageway and the filter lane were closed initially, with tailbacks reaching back to junction 7.
The road was cleared by 10am.
