Ryman League Division 1 South round-up

Chatham Town were dragged further into the Ryman League Division 1 South relegation mire with a 3-1 defeat at Fleet Town on Saturday.

The hosts opened the scoring on 25 minutes and doubled the lead with a penalty on 36 minutes with the clincher arriving 13 minutes from time meaning Aaron Firth's tap-in on 83 minutes was a mere consolation.

The Chats are now just one place and five points clear of second-bottom Corinthian Casuals having played four more games.

Whitstable Town's revival continued with a fine 2-1 win at promotion-chasing Walton Casuals which left them 18th and seven points clear of the drop-zone.

Ian Pulman (pictured) was the hero, slotting the opener for the Oystermen on 40 minutes and rounding the keeper to guide home the winner 16 minutes from time after Casuals had drawn level on the hour.

Sittingbourne recorded an encouraging 1-0 win at Chipstead to go back up to ninth.

Ryan Golding's 32nd minute goal was all that separated the sides as Bourne recoirded just their second win in seven.

Faversham Town drew for the fifth time in seven games following a goalless draw against Merstham at the Shepherd Neame Stadium, which left the Lilywhites two points and two places outside the play-off places having played two games more than the sides above them.

Ramsgate drew 0-0 at home to Dulwich Hamlet to slip to 12th.
