Faversham Town overcame Godalming Town 3-1 at the Shepherd Neame Stadium to move 9th and within five points of the Ryman League Division 1 playoffs.

The Lilywhites' unbeaten run was extended to eight games as two goals from Alex Waugh and another from Damian Abel (pictured) secured the points.

Sittingbourne are just a point outside the playoff places after crushing basement-boys Horsham YMCA 5-0.

Hicham Akhazzan set the Brickies on the way in the first half before Tom Bradbrook added a brace, Joe Horlock scored a superb 35-yard free-kick and Jack Hooper completed the rout after the break.

Chatham Town lost 4-1 at promotion-chasing Whitehawk and sit 18th, but are still 10 points clear of the relegation zone but Whitstable Town remain mired in the bottom two after going down 5-2 at Met Police.

Town were behind after just 34 seconds when a corner was flicked past Kevin Fewell, it was 2-0 inside five minutes and 4-0 by half-time without Town having had a shot at goal and the hosts only having had six.

It was 5-0 within five minutes of the restart but after a reshuffle saw Gareth Cornhill switch to right midfield and he scored twice, chasing down an attempted clearance from the Police keeper and swinging in a free-kick.
