Chatham Town battled to their first win in eight matches with a 1-0 success over Burgess Hill on Saturday.
The Chats took the lead in the 31st minute when Nick Hegley's shot was deflected in by a Burgess Hill player, and the home side then defended stubbornly to protect their advantage.
Sittingbourne went down 2-1 at home to leaders Leatherhead. Greg Andrews' penalty gave Leatherhead a 1-0 lead and Mark Simmons doubled their tally before Tom Bradbrook pulled one back for the home side.
Whitstable slipped to their second successive 3-2 defeat after leading twice at home to Fleet Town.
Stuart Vahid put Whitstable ahead and although Fleet levelled soon after the restart through Mark Anderson, the Oystermen were back in front when Ian Pullman converted a 60th-minute penalty.
But that goal lifted the visitors again and they secured the points through Johnny Dyer and a late Darren Wheeler penalty.
