Maidstone United scored twice in the final 10 minutes to rescue a point from their trip to Lowestoft on Tuesday night.

Premier Division play-off chasers Lowestoft were looking odds-on for three points before late goals from Michael Phillips and Jay May (pictured) levelled the match at 3-3.

The draw was a bonus for the Stones but they remain bottom of the table, three points adrift of nearest side Croydon Athletic.

Tuesday’s game was goalless at the break but two goals in three minutes early in the second half put Lowestoft 2-0 ahead. That came despite them being reduced to 10 men with the dismissal of Curtis Haynes-Brown.

Jay Saunders pulled a goal back on 55 minutes but Lowestoft restored their two goal advantage midway through the half.

Phillips’ 82nd minute goal made it 3-2 and the points were shared when May scored a minute later.

Kevin Raine’s first game in charge at Margate ended in a 2-1 home defeat against Concord Rangers.

The caretaker manager saw his side concede on 19 minutes and the visitors doubled the lead early in the second half from a free-kick.

With four minutes left at Hartsdown Park James Pinnock was brought down in the box and Wayne Wilson converted the spot-kick.

In added time Shaun Welford went down in the box but this time the referee waved away the penalty appeals and Concord departed with maximum points.

Cray Wanderers suffered a 3-1 home defeat to Billericay.

Leight Bremner scored Cray’s only goal of the match.

The Kent derby in Division 1 South saw Ramsgate win 2-0 at Faversham Town.

Mark Lovell scored a goal in each half to wrap up the points for the Rams.

Inbetween those goals the Lilywhites were reduced to 10 men, with a sending off for Dane Luchford, and their bad luck on the night was compounded when Jack Smelt saved a second half penalty for Jim Ward’s side.
