Tonbridge Angels begin their quest for promotion via the Ryman League Premier Division play-offs on Tuesday evening when they host Harrow Borough.

Angels secured second spot with a 2-0 win at Horsham on Saturday which earned them a play-off semi-final date with Borough, who sneaked into fifth place and the final play-off berth on goal difference.

Fraser Logan and Scott Kinch scored the Angels goals after the break which ensured home advantage in both the semi-final and final of the play-offs.

Should Angels overcome Borough they will face the winner of Lowestoft Town against Bury Town at Longmead on Saturday.

Meanwhile despite Maidstone United suffering the first relegation in their history on Saturday, player-boss Jay Saunders (pictured) has been handed a permanent deal to stay in charge of the Stones on a one-year rolling contract.

United needed a win at AFC Hornchurch and fifth-bottom Hastings to lose on Saturday to ensure a dramatic escape but despite Aveley overcoming the Sussex side 3-2, goals either side of the break ensured Maidstone went down 2-0 in Essex to fall to third-bottom.

They face relegation to Ryman League Division 1, though whether they play in the North or South division has not yet been decided.

Already-relegated Folkestone Invicta finished the season with a 4-1 home defeat to promotion-chasing Lowestoft.

James Dryden put the hosts ahead but the visitors ran riot with Folkestone's Josh Burchell being sent-off after the break.

Cray Wanderers finished ninth after a late goal from Aaron Day salvaged a point in a 1-1 draw against Harrow Borough in their final game of the campaign on Saturday.

Margate produced a fine comeback from 3-0 down inside half an hour to secure a point at home to Kingstonian on Saturday.

Wayne Wilson pulled one back seven minutes before the break and headed his second a minute into the second half before an acrobatic volley from Dean Hill in the final 15 minutes earned a point for Gate which saw them finish 16th.
