Whitstable's resurgence in Ryman League, Division 1 South continued with a 3-0 win at Walton Casuals on Saturday to leap into the top-10.
After beginning the campaign with three straight defeats, the Oystermen have bounced back by taking seven points from the next three games.
They made the best possible start at Walton, taking a first-minute lead through Stuart Vahid before two direct free-kicks from Nicky Southall, one on 38 minutes and the other in second-half injury-time, made the game safe.
The hosts were reduced to 10 in the incident which led to the second free-kick.
Faversham Town returned to league action after a four-game cup run with a creditable 1-1 draw at home to leaders Crawley Down Gatwick.
Dan Lawrence put the Lilywhites ahead shortly after the half-hour but former Maidstone striker Baff Addae earned a share of the points five minutes into the second half before another ex-Stone, Gabriel Odunaike, was dismissed later on.
Herne Bay toppled second-placed Walton & Hersham 2-1 at Winchs Field. James Turner put the hosts ahead around the hour and an own-goal from Daniel Sintim four minutes later meant that Phil Williams consolation 18 minutes from time was a mere consolation and Bay climbed up to fifth place.
Folkestone Invicta remained third despite a disappointing goalless draw at home to winless basement-boys Corinthian Casuals while Sittingbourne allowed an early 1-0 lead slip in a 2-1 defeat at Burgess Hill Town.
Luke Girt put the Brickies ahead after five minutes but they were pegged back just before the break through Nicky Wheeler and after wasting a host of chances, the Hillians grabbed the winner 10 minutes from time through Ryan Thompson.
