Maidstone United's Ryman League Premier Division survival hopes were dented as they went down 5-1 at leaders Sutton United.
Despite Andy Walker (pictured) making a superb save to deny a first-minute penalty, the Stones keeper was beaten on 24 minutes by Darren Ebsworth's free-kick and it was 2-0 on 31 minutes when Richard Jolly converted from a corner.
Jolly added his second on 56 minutes while Leroy Griffiths made it 4-0 just after the hour and despite substitute Gary Wharton pulling one back after a defensive mix-up two minutes later, the hosts added a fifth in stoppage time through Bradley Woods-Garness after an error from Reis Boyle.
The Stones are now two points from safety with a game in hand, but a worse goal difference than the sides above them.
Chatham Town failed to put distance between themselves and the Ryman League Division 1 South drop-zone after going down 3-2 at home to Met Police on Saturday.
Jason Barton fired the hosts ahead seven minutes before half-time with an angled drive into the top corner but goals on 56 minutes and 75 minutes turned the game on its head.
However after a spell of pressure Barton levelled for the Chats eight minutes from time, firing home from a corner, but with four minutes of injury time played the Police stole the points with a third goal from a set-piece.
The Chats are five points clear of the relegation zone but have played five more games than some of the sides below them.
Faversham Town's play-off push suffered a blow with a 2-1 defeat at Chipstead.
Justin Ascheri cancelled out the hosts opener with a goal 20 minutes from time but the Lilywhites conceded the second with eight minutes remaining to make it just one win in five for Town, who sit two places and three-points below the play-off places having played more games than the sides they are chasing.
