Folkestone Invicta and Thamesmead Town both progressed to the FA Carlsberg Trophy third qualifying round on Saturday.

James Everitt was the star of the show for Invicta, scoring all four goals in their 4-2 home win over Daventry Town.

And Danny Penny scored twice for Thamesmead in their 3-0 success over Arlesey Town, with their other goal coming from a Danny Killick header.

Margate must travel to Wealdstone for a replay on Tuesday night after drawing 1-1 at Hartsdown Park.

Richard Avery fired the 'Gate in front on the stroke of half-time but Wealdstone equalised through Scott Fitzgerald with their only real chance of the second half.

Faversham Town went out 4-2 at home to Ryman Premier side East Thurrock, with Faversham's goals coming from Justin Ascheri and Adrian Stone. The home side also missed an injury-time penalty when new signing Lee Shearer fired over the bar after Ascheri had been brought down in the area.

Craig Thompson scored twice for Hythe Town in their 3-2 defeat at Bury Town, and Scott Porter's side almost earned a replay when Richard Sinden was inches away from converting a low cross.

In Ryman League Division 1 South Maidstone United remain in second place, one point behind leaders Dulwich Hamlet, following their 3-1 victory at Eastbourne Town. Shaun Welford (2) and Michael Phillips were on target for the Stones.

Whitstable Town celebrated the appointment of Justin Luchford as their new manager with a 4-1 home win over Croydon Athletic, only their fourth league success of the season.

Danny Williams scored twice with their other goals coming from James Simmons and a Stuart Vahid penalty.

A late free kick from Bryan Glover secured a point for Sittingbourne in a 2-2 home draw with Chipstead after the Brickies had taken the lead through Hicham Akhazzan.

In Ryman 1 North Chatham Town suffered their third successive defeat without scoring as they went down 2-0 at home to Leiston.
