GILLINGHAM FC chairman Paul Scally is remaining tight-lipped over the future location of his club’s stadium.
Despite recent rumours Mr Scally insists the club has made no firm decision about where a future stadium will be built.
He added there were three or four sites still under the microscope and the club was in talks with different parties.
But the Gills supremo did say he hoped an announcement could be made by March.
“The reason I can’t discuss where the site is going to be is because it’s a very sensitive issue,” said Mr Scally.
“If the deal hasn’t been finalised then any speculation could potentially mean someone pulling out of talks and that isn’t good for anyone.
“There are four sites we are looking at and it’s the landowners who have the final say and we have to respect their decision.
“It’s irresponsible for people to go around guessing because it’s such a sensitive issue .”
Mr Scally was commenting on a report suggesting the club might be moving to Chatham Docks, currently operated by Medway Ports.
The Gills chief also said he would do all he could to keep the club in Medway.
“We’ve achieved a lot politically and we’re very grateful to the work Rodney Chambers, leader of Medway council, and his colleagues have done,” he added.
