School fete raises a staggering £6,500

A village school fete raised an amazing £6,500.

Organisers of the Bridge and Patrixbourne School event on Saturday went back to traditional entertainment, a decision which appears to have paid off.

Attractions included throwing sponges at victims in the stocks.

The money raised will be split between the school and the Church of St Peter in the village.
