Injuries on school grounds has resulted in a council forking out £675,000 in compensation payments in the last 12 years.
On one occasion, Kent County Council (KCC) had to pay £70,000 to someone who was injured on a school playground
The authority was asked to provide details of all financial settlements since 2010 but revealed there have been no payouts since 2020.
Between 2010 and 2020, there were 76 such incidents which cost the authority a total of £674,430.
The Freedom of Information data did not distinguish whether the injury involved a pupil or a member of staff and did not disclose at which school or area and how the incidents happened.
In 2011, there were 20 incidents which left KCC having the fork out £162,900, making it the most costly year.
In that year, the incident with the highest pay out saw the council hand over £30,000.
The incident involved an injury which happened during a lesson in a classroom.
However, the most expensive incident in the last 10 years was from a playground injury in 2012, which resulted in a £70,000 pay out.
There were 12 incidents involving defective equipment, another 12 classroom injuries, 10 playground injuries, five slips on a wet floor, two injuries from falling objects, three injuries as a result of moving equipment and three PE injuries, one of which cost £14,000.
The council also had to pay £1,500 to a pupil who was injured by another pupil in 2012.
The last pay out, recorded in 2020, involved defective equipment and cost the council £3,500.
