School raid caught on camera

TEENAGE burglars breaking into a Chatham school were caught red-handed - on video camera.

Staff at Greenvale Infants handed CCTV footage to the police after discovering the break-in over the weekend.

The young raiders were captured on tape smashing their way in through a window at the school in Symons Avenue on Saturday at 1.30pm.

They rifled through CDs and musical equipment, but left empty-handed.

Head teacher Jill Spencer said:"Although nothing was stolen it makes it miserable for the children.

"I had only just had the window installed and it makes me angry that we have to pay out on repairs when we could be spending money on equipment."

Detectives are sifting through the CCTV and examining fingerprints. Call police on 01634 884252 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
