A 12-year-old boy has been seriously injured in a road accident in Dartford.

The boy is believed to have been crossing Temple Hill Square, outside Mallard Close, at about 3.45pm Tuesday when he was struck by a vehicle.

A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance Service said he was taken to Darent Valley Hospital with head injuries.

Residents and shop owners on the square said the road was sealed off for several hours, but police were unable to confirm any further details.
