Scratchcards stolen in smash-and-grab

LOTTERY scratchcards worth £1,000 were stolen early today from Forbuoys newsagents at Birchington. The shop in the village’s Station Road was broken into at around 1.30am after glass in the front door was smashed.

Police say a slim man wearing blue jeans and a dark top was seen leaving the shop at the time. He got into a dark coloured Ford Fiesta. Damage to the door is estimated at about £200.

Earlier this month £1,500 worth of scratchcards were stolen from a Margate newsagents.
